The Olympic champion concluded her 800m season with a triumph at the women-only Athlos event in New York on Friday evening.
{The reigning Olympic champion, who earned third place at the global championships recently, dominated an impressive win in 1:56.53 in what was just her sixth appearance in a season impacted by a hamstring injury.
Fellow Briton and world silver medallist Georgia Bell finished second once more in 1:58.33, while St Vincent's Shafiqua M. (one minute 58.57) claimed third.
"I haven't competed much this season so it was probably less of a struggle for me to compete and want to give it something," stated Hodgkinson.
"The atmosphere out there is crazy so it was extremely enjoyable."
The female-exclusive event filled the stadium in its second edition, introducing a party atmosphere to traditional track, with live music and special crowns substituting traditional winners' medals.
The tennis legend with 23 major titles Serena Williams, who is married to Athlos founder Alexis O., was present to present the victors with their tiaras.
Last year's winners received sixty thousand dollars (forty-four thousand six hundred and three pounds) - one of the largest prize purses in track and field.
The competition also attracted some of the sport's biggest names, as the Kenyan triple Olympic champion and global record breaker Faith Kipyegon triumphed in the mile race, crossing the finish line in 4:17.78.
The US Brittany Brown, the 200m bronze medallist from last year's Paris Olympics, secured the sprint double.
